The Arts Council is procuring the services of a number of Arts Advisers to meet the needs of the organisation both from a quality and service delivery perspective. The artforms to which this relates are: Literature (English language), Literature (Irish language) and Visual Arts. Each contract will be offered separately.

Successful tenderers will be experienced practitioners in the relevant areas, with the expertise and experience required to work with the Arts Council’s staff by assisting in the appraisal and assessment of funding applications, providing critical advice on artistic work and providing advice in relation to art form policy, as required.

Application for each of these contracts is exclusively by a public tender process advertised via the eTenders Government procurement website www.etenders.gov.ie.

Queries or clarifications regarding any of these contracts should be directed to the Questions and Answers facility at www.etenders.gov.ie on or before 12 noon, Wednesday, 21 February 2018 and should not be directed to the Arts Council.

The outcome of the Visual Artists’ Workspace Scheme, which is administered by Visual Artists Ireland on behalf of the Arts Council has been announced.

This Scheme offers grants of up to a maximum of €40,000 towards the running costs of visual artists’ workspaces. In keeping with the Council’s policy document Visual Artists’ Workspaces in Ireland – A New Approach, this scheme has the aim of assisting artists workspaces throughout the country to provide the best possible environment for working visual artists and, where feasible, to enable a level of subsidy for resident visual artists.

In total, 19 studios/workspaces were awarded funding, supporting facilities for 676 individual artists.
